Hey gang, it's awards time.

I've been busy battling Old Man Winter, and guess who's about to raise a white flag.
It's been snowing since Sunday afternoon. It is now Monday, and I'm ready for Spring.
This is what awaited me as I stepped out in the front porch this morning. Incidentally, that is not a picture of my cat. I stole it from one of my favorite sites, I can has cheezburger?

Oh, merciful Heaven, how much more of this fluffy, white stuff must a mere mortal endure!?

I'd like to take a moment (while I freeze my assets off waiting for Spring) to thank dear Jain from Once in a Blue Moon Iris for honoring me with the Brillante Weblog Premio 2008.

Thank you Jain! Please, check out Jain's lovely blog.
And now, allow me the honor to pass along this award to the following bloggers:

The Village Voice, whose creative blog is filled with her artistic photography, wonderful travels, equally wonderful recipes and inspiring quotes. If we lived next door to each other, I'd be the Kramer (Seinfeld's intrusive neighbor) in her life. Please, visit her amazing blog.

Just the Right Size. Kathy has a penchant for good food, good wine and good humor...better than ice cream [G].

Food Box, here you'll find beautiful pictures of wonderful food and travels. Pure eye candy.

Y - Why ask Y? Because she's a baker extraordinaire. Check out her yummy blog.

Cooking my Life Maureen is a delightful writer, her blog covers everything from her cooking and travels, to her crafts. She carries a big (glue) gun, and she knows how to use it.

Happy Loves Strawberry If you like cookies, cakes and a myriad of treats with a nod to healthier ingredients because you want to make your momma happy, then Indigo's blog is for you.

Artsy Foodie. Alexa's site focuses on healthy fare. A look at her pictures and recipes prove that healthy can also mean delicious, in the right hands.

Oh will I ever cook much again...

btw, Homeland Security hasn't called me yet to advise. Wonder why.

  2. M, I don't believe in stinkin' rules much either. And I figured you'd get through your challenge with flying colors, so the cheesecake is officially yours.

  3. Marysol,
Congratulations on your well-deserved award! Thank you so much for thinking of me and the kind words on my blog.
I laughed when I saw I can has Cheezburger mentioned on your post. My husband and son are addicted to the site. I have resisted but I am starting to speak funny-- I call it the "I can has" grammar. It's a big joke at our house.

  4. Oh, Sol you little vixen! I was going to say, "I'm not worthy", but hell, YES I AM!

Thank you so much, you made my day (since I found out a squirrel ate my car - no joke)!

Bring some of that loverly, white, fluffy stuff down here to Florida!

  5. Not a sign of snow here, so you could come here to take a break fro the winter whiteness. Of course you'd get winter grey and mold instead...

  6. Alexa, my lolcat addiction is also responsible for changing both, my grammar and vocabulary. And one of these days I'll submit a pikshure of mai kitteh to their site [G]

Dear Kathy, you're our winemaking queen; you are sooo worthy!

And while I'm sorry a squirrel ate your car, I cannot wait to hear the story! I have a feeling this one's going to become a classic.

Hmm, white snow up to my elbows, or grey skies and mold. Lynn, thanks so much for the invitation. And please be patient. . .I'm still thinking.

  8. What a dear, Marysol! You most certainly deserve this lovely honor and thank you for sharing it with me ... I'm honored though it might be a bit before I can pass it on ... crazy life here moving hubby's office back into the home. But I must tell you, I had a dream about meeting you the other night ... crazy huh! And by the way, I'd love you for a neighbor (we could waddle back and forth through the snow ;)

  11. You're very welcome! I'm one, of many, who feels your inspiring blogs are worthy of a standing ovation. Congratulations to each and everyone of you!

NC, here in the Midwest, the snow-covered evergreens I posted about on Monday, are the same trees which are happily swishing and swaying in the early December wind today.
Weather changes very quickly around here. But, I'd still trade places with you, for at least the next 4 months :-)

Dear Joey, please, don't stress over the rules.
In regards to your dream, I want to know every last detail. And what do you mean it was "crazy?" What did I do this time? Whatever it was, I apologize. But keep in mind, it was your dream, so I at least have an accomplice.
Btw, what a blessing that your dh will be working from home. I think that's wonderful...as long as you still find time to play with us.
But, if there's any interference at all, we'll just have to help DH relocate. And just in case hubby is peeking over your shoulder...
...I'm only kidding, of course. Haha ;-Þ

Indi, I love your enthusiastic smiley face.

    Again, congrats to all!

  13. FB, I didn't realize it snowed in Israel.
Now that I know better, I hope you'll get a nice blanket of snow, for the holidays.
And forget cheesecake, lettuce think hot chocklate and purrhaps a blankie.

Amiga, congrats for the well deserved award. Your sense of humor is another thing I come to your blog besides your cooking and baking talent:) You rock!

Stay warm. The spring is just around the corner (not really). Or, move to California. It's nice and warm here.

  15. Oh Fari, I must resist the urge to click my heels. But, if those urges weaken, I may just have to fly out to Cali and move in with you for a few months.
